Chickpeas, also known as Garbanzo Beans, are low glycemic legumes that are a rich source of protein, folic acid, fibre, and the essential amino acid lysine. Folic acid is important for cardiovascular health and is needed for energy production. Fibre is important in aiding proper digestion. Lysine is vital for many body functions including growth and maintenance of tissues and muscle mass.

Omega 3 fatty acids play a major role in the functioning of the immune system and the maintenance of all hormonal systems in the body.
